Olive oil is mildly acidic, sensitive to metal-catalysed oxidation, and stored for months at a time. That combination makes the tank's material, finish and weld quality a product-quality decision rather than a corrosion decision. A stainless tank specified only by grade can still spoil oil if the finish holds residue, if welds are rough or unpassivated, or if the wrong gasket material is in contact with the product.
Engineered by Shijiazhuang Zhengzhong Technology Co., Ltd. (Center Enamel), stainless olive oil tanks are specified by grade, finish, weld quality and gasket chemistry together, because the oil sees all four.
304L is the standard for olive oil storage; 316L is used where additional corrosion resistance is wanted, where saline conditions apply, or where the specification calls for it. Both are low-carbon grades so welds are not sensitised.
· 304L: The standard austenitic grade for edible oil storage; low carbon for weldability.
· 316L: Molybdenum-bearing for extra pitting resistance, chosen where the specification or the environment calls for it.
· Low Carbon Grades: The L grades avoid sensitisation in the heat-affected zone during welding.
· Copper and Brass Excluded: Copper and brass catalyse oxidation and are kept out of product contact.

Every welded oil tank delivered by Shijiazhuang Zhengzhong Technology Co., Ltd. (Center Enamel) is designed to API 650 with shell courses sized by the one-foot method and checked for wind, seismic and hydrostatic load cases, or to EN 14015 and the Eurocodes where the site is European. Shell plate is shot-blasted to Sa 2.5 and coated to a documented dry film thickness, longitudinal and annular plate welds are examined by radiography or ultrasonic testing to the acceptance level written into the purchase order, and every tank is hydrostatically tested and dimensionally surveyed before hand-over. Stainless olive oil tanks are delivered with mill certificates, welding procedure and qualification records, weld maps, passivation records, surface finish verification and food-grade gasket certification.

Welding disturbs the chromium oxide film that gives stainless its corrosion resistance, leaving a heat-affected zone that will corrode first and contaminate the oil. Pickling and passivation restore that film across every weld, which is why we treat it as a required step and record it rather than as an optional finish.
Food-grade elastomers selected for oil, temperature and the cleaning agents used - typically materials approved for fatty food contact. The selection matters because an incompatible gasket can taint the oil and hold residue between batches, undoing the benefit of the stainless shell.
